Common RAGE:MP errors and how to solve them
âš™ All known errors and how to solve them (scroll through the page and look for your problem).
🖥 If you have a problem with running RAGE:MP and it is not on the list - write to this thread, I will try to help.
ERROR: Could not access game process. Shutdown Steam/RGS/EGS and try again.
As the error says: Terminate all Steam/Rockstar Game Service/Epic Games Store processes and try to connect again. Also, some people find it helpful to run as an administrator and disable the antivirus (or adding the RAGE:MP directory to antivirus exceptions, which often occurs with Kaspersky Anti-Virus).
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005)
Disable any antiviruses or add the folder to exclusions and try to install RAGE again. This error is most common if the antivirus deletes multiplayer files.
If disabling antivirus/windows defender does not help, right-click on the updater.exe and select "Troubleshoot compatibility" from the menu.
ERROR: Your game version is not supported by RAGE Multiplayer.
Please upgrade to 1.54 (16 March 2021) in order to continue playing.
This error indicates that GTA V has been updated to the new version (GTA Online too).
You need to update the game itself in the main menu of your app (Steam / Epic Games / Rockstar Games).
After that, if the game still doesn't work, you need to wait for the release of the patch for the
multiplayer itself (usually it takes from a few hours to a few days). And this means that EVERYONE cannot enter, and not only you.
If there was no GTA V update, then you are using the old version and you need to update.

(STEAM ONLY) Single player mode is launched or single player is launched instead of multiplayer.
Log out of Steam, then start RAGE and let it run Steam on its own, after which you will most likely load into multiplayer.
The game won't start or starts and disconnects
immediately Uninstall any mods installed in the GTA folder.
NVIDIA users: Disable Nvidia Shadowplay and try logging in again.
The game disconnects after logging into the server (As soon as the "Multiplayer started" message appears)
Try moving the folder from RAGE to another drive (e.g. from C:\ to D:\)
If the server has a voice chat, disable any programs that block access to the microphone or change your voice.
Failed to retrieve the install directory This
happens when you specify the wrong folder with GTA V or the gta executable/any other files need to be updated. First, make sure that you specify the correct folder with GTAV.exe. If the folder is correct, then run gta file verification.
RageMP freezes when I click on the server
Often this happens when the GTAV.exe file is missing from the gta folder. If the file is present, check if Steam can run gta 5.
I run RAGE Multiplayer and nothing happens
Disable any antiviruses or add a folder to the exclusions, this happens when some RAGE files are missing. If you don't have an antivirus, reinstall RAGE Multiplayer.
I'm getting frameskipping while playing on any server (I didn't understand what frameskipping is, translate it yourself as you want)
Disable autohotkey. If the monitor is 144Hz, limit fps/hz to 60.
GTA V starts with a black screen and then suddenly closes/crashes after pressing 'Play Now'
If this happens for the first time after starting RageMP or you have just reinstalled it, it is because the 'Play Now' button reconnects to the last server you played on. Use the 'Servers' tab or 'Direct Connect' if you are connecting for the first time, after that you can use 'Play Now'.
GTA V LaunchesI'm with a black screen and disconnects.
Possible programs that cause this to happen:
- MSI Afterburner
- AI Suite 3
- GameFirst V
- Malwarebytes
- Norton Security / Antivirus Software
- RivaTuner Statistics Server (7.2.2)
- Microsoft Gaming Overlay (or 'Game Bar')
"A legal up to date Grand Theft Auto V copy is required to play RAGE Multiplayer"
You need to buy a licensed copy of the game.
If you purchased the game and still see this error, verify the files. If that doesn't help, go to the folder with the gta and delete the 'GTA5.exe' file, then run the 'PlayGTA5.exe' and load into the game. After that, try logging in through RAGE again.
RageMP closes immediately after opening
Turn off any antiviruses or add the folder to exclusions, then restart your computer.
If that doesn't work, then cloudflare may be blocking your connection, try connecting via VPN.
Starts single mode or the main menu
Make sure that the Visual C++ redistributable 2015 (

System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (403)
Your IP has been blocked, please change it or use a VPN.
If none of the above helps, try the following:
- Reinstall RAGE Multiplayer.
- Make sure that the game has not been modified in any way.
- Reinstall GTA V or go through file verification.
- Run RAGE Multiplayer as an administrator.
- Install the required packages:

- Install RageMP and GTA V on different drives.
- Disable any overlays (Steam, OBS, Discord overlay, Overwolf).
- Make sure the save file is present (start the single-player game and save it).
- Uninstall any mods on GTA V.
- Turn off any antiviruses or add the folder to exclusions. Add RAGE to Firewall exceptions.
- Right-click on the ragemp.exe and select "Troubleshoot compatibility" from the menu.
- (NVIDIA USERS) disable Shadowplay.
- (STEAM ONLY) Log out of Steam, then start RAGE and let it run Steam itself.
- Attention! The most important step when nothing else helps:
Completely remove Rockstar Games Service and Social Club from everywhere if installed + empty folders in Documents, AppData.
Completely delete all GTA V files and start downloading, waiting for the download to finish.
We make the first trial entry into the STORY MODE and reach the moment of the character's spawn, after which we leave the game.
Now connect through RAGE Multiplayer to your favorite server, 99% everything will work.

List of conflicting programs and overlays that MAY be causing ragemp client crashes. These are not all possible programs, you need to look carefully at others that may be installed in the system.
Note: if there is a main_logs.txt file in the game folder and there is a FYDIGF fragment somewhere in nm, then this is probably the case when there is some conflicting software.

Your IP address is blocked on Rockstar Games hardware. To solve this error, you need to change your IP (restarting the router often helps).
If you still can't change your IP address yourself, call your ISP and ask them to do it (or use a VPN).
After changing the IP, the Social Club will work normally.
